Introduction

The National Assault Legion [NAL] is a Garry's Mod Faction originating from CFC Build/Kill. Its core purpose is to attack and wage war against other parties or random sandbox servers for sheer enjoyment.

Backstory

NAL's earliest remnants in Garry's Mod can be traced back to as early as March 2022, during the First Coalition of Super (Super Garrys Mod), which had a variety of name changes of the course of the following year or so, merging with and separating from other clans on a regular basis. Due to insufficient manpower, the leader, Snackrat (Scanty), decided to create a new faction with a completely new and unique objective.

Battles

Pineapple Pizza Genocide (6/22/23)

NAL (National Assault Legion) was formed on June 22, 2023 following an incident on CFC Build/Kill regarding spontaneous prejudice against people who liked Pineapple on Pizza incited by Snackrat. Persons gradually sided with him and were immediately hostile to those who disagreed, labling them as "Heretics". NAL eventually found itself being officially dedicated to attacking random people for stupid reasons for the fun of Garry's Mod Combat.

NAL-BBC Skirmish (6/22/23)

A mere hour or so after NAL's official formation, CFC's map changes to Golden City. Bairi from BBC joins and forges a joke ethnostate called "KILL" for the sole purpose of targeting NAL and removing them from the server. One of NAL's initial members betrays them for KILL, and a massive firefight ensues. The Battle lasts approximately 45 Minutes, with no clear decisive victor, as most of NAL left the server before its leader could document the KD. But neither side had a clear advantage due to them both having a negative KD ratio. Needless to say, this battle established NAL's power and intent to the people of CFC.

NAL-TTN War

The Turtle Nation declared war on NAL for TTN reasons, so the two groups went to war. United Legion of SCI joined in on the fight, assisting NAL on multiple occasions. But TTN would cheat on a variety of occasions to manipulate the KD in their favor. Seeing no reason to waste further manpower, NAL pulled out of the conflict entirely allowing gopnik's crimes to speak for themselves.

NAL-ULSCI War (7/10/23)

ULSCI would turn on NAL out of frustration with them ditching pointless battles, and NAL realized ULSCI's values betrayed their own, which prompted NAL to declare war on their former ally. NAL would attempt to raid Courier Sandbox, but after taking an incredibly long time to load in, and suffering a cataclysmic amount of lag and freezing, NAL declared the server too chaotic to fight on, and implored ULSCI to fight them on G-Room, where NAL would remain for at least the next half hour, only for ULSCI to not appear. Conflicting opinions as to how to go about their war with NAL began arising in ULSCI, with some members suggesting a fight the following day, while others suggested staying in Courier, hoping that NAL would feel like returning to collect their debts.

Battle of G-Room (7/12/23)

The First open conflict of the war occurred on G-Room when ULSCI launched an invasion on G-Room without warning.

They joined the server in large enough numbers to fill the server to full capacity, allowing only 2 NAL members to join, and leaving the rest trapped outside, being forced to sit it out. The Battle went fairly well at first, with both sides sticking to either HL2 Weapons, M9Ks and Propkill, but Phil of ULSCI decided that Propkill was not acceptable, even though by that point everyone was doing it, so he dragged out an Autokiller against Snackrat as an ultimatum, forcing him to either "fight fairly" or die continuously.

Up to that point in the battle, Snackrat's KD Ratio stayed fairly positive, at least until a server admin supposedly froze all props and ragdolls for an extended period of time, preventing anyone from Prop Flying or Prop Killing, and restricting the battle to basic weapons only. To make matter's worse, NAL's original edge of taking advantage of the propspam at spawn had been nullified as the person responsible was Votebanned. This finished NAL's barely positive KD Ratio, but a ULSCI victory is uncertain due to the harsh tactics used, such as attempting to falsely Voteban another NAL member for no reason, which still failed.

NAL-TNW War (Cold War II)

The NAL-TNW (The Nuclear Warheads) conflict would ultimately be the final war in Cold War II in which both sides spent a considerable amount of time attempting to one-up each other as usual, and about a month or so of pure anarchy warfare occurred until both sides agreed to an ultimatum.

But then TNW subsequently dismantled this ultimatum and continued fighting dishonorably for another short while, until the TNW leader stepped in and dealt with the persons responsible for continuing the childish warfare. After a bit of playful fighting, TNW and NAL once again attempted a Truce, and one of the longest Super-Conflicts in recent history finally came to a close.

Nationalist Era (8/22/23)

In Late August of 2023, NAL decided to abandon Socialism as an ideology in favor of Nationalism.

This change prompted a Rebranding into what is known today as UAF.

• The Original NAL Flag was intentionally based on China to make it look more intimidating.
